Ground operator in Italy and Europe, for agencies who sell the trip

KM Tourism is a destination ground operator based in northern Italy. We deliver private guiding, vehicles, accommodation, boats and access on behalf of tour operators and travel advisors abroad, at net rates, under your brand. You own the client and the margin; we run the ground.

What we actually deliver

We are the party on the ground in the destination. You sell and own the client relationship; the itinerary arrives already arranged. In practice that means:

  • Licensed private guides, city by city
  • Private vehicles with English-speaking drivers, sized to the party
  • Accommodation held and coordinated against your brief and budget band
  • Boats and private water transfers on Como, Garda, the Venetian lagoon and the Amalfi coast
  • Restaurant tables, museum and monument entry, and timed-entry tickets
  • Airport meet-and-greet and inter-city transfers
  • A single point of contact for the whole file, not one per supplier

We do not sell flights, and we do not compete with you for your client. If the traveller contacts us directly during a trip you booked, they stay yours.

Where we operate

Our base is Vercelli in Piedmont, roughly an hour west of Milan. That location is the reason for our specialism: the northern lakes, the Alps, the Piedmont wine country and the Swiss border are all inside a comfortable day’s radius, and so is Milan Malpensa.

Driving time from our Piedmont base
DestinationApprox. driveTypical use
Milan (city + Malpensa)45–70 minArrivals, shopping days, opera
Lake Como (Como town)~1 hr 15Day tours, villa visits, boat days
Lake Maggiore / Stresa~1 hrBorromean islands, quieter lake days
Lugano, Switzerland~1 hr 45Cross-border lake and mountain days
Barolo / Langhe wine country~1 hr 30Wine estates, truffle season
Turin~1 hrRoyal residences, museums, food
Dolomites (Bolzano)~4 hrsMulti-day alpine legs
Venice~3 hrsMulti-day itinerary legs

We also run cross-border legs into Switzerland, France and Austria. Multi-country alpine itineraries are genuinely hard to source from a single operator, and they are a large part of what we are asked for.

Rates and how pricing works

Partners receive net rates and set their own selling price. We publish no retail price that could undercut you, and we do not mark up between quote and invoice. Rates go out on request, per region, rather than sitting on a public page where your client could find them.

What a rate request needs
Service typePriced byMinimum
Half-day privateGuide + vehicle, per partyno minimum
Full-day privateGuide + vehicle, per party4 guests for VIP work
Multi-day private itineraryPer person, per rooming basis4 guests
Group departurePer person, sharing or single20 travellers
Private boat charterPer hour, seasonalquoted per lake

Per-person cost falls as party size rises, because the vehicle and the guide are fixed costs spread across the group. Single occupancy is the largest single swing on any multi-day quote. Deposits run at 20–30% to confirm, balance on delivery.

Invoicing, VAT and the legal entity

We invoice business to business. For operators established outside Italy, EU reverse-charge treatment normally applies, so you receive an invoice without Italian VAT and account for it under your own regime. Your finance team will want these details:

  • Registered name: KM Tourism di K.M.
  • P.IVA (Italian VAT number): 02850180023
  • Codice Fiscale: KHLMMM90C01Z236Z
  • Registered office: Corso Fiume 33, 13100 Vercelli (VC), Italy
  • Governing law and jurisdiction: Italy, Milan

KM Tourism acts as an intermediary, arranging services with the suppliers who perform them, rather than as the organiser of a pre-packaged tour. That distinction matters for your own liability position, so it is stated plainly rather than buried — the full wording is in our booking conditions.

Languages, and who we are used to hosting

We work in English and Italian, and in Arabic and Urdu. That last pair is not decoration. KM Tourism spent two decades operating in Dubai before opening the Italian branch, so Gulf travel is not a segment we are learning — it is where the company grew up.

In practice this means we handle without prompting: halal dining requirements and knowing which kitchens will genuinely accommodate them, prayer times built into a day plan rather than bolted on, family privacy expectations, later dining, and multi-generational parties travelling together with very different walking paces. For agencies selling Europe into the Gulf, that is usually the part that goes wrong with a standard European ground handler.

Lead times and what we need from you

Request typeRealistic noticeWhat we need
Single private day tour1–2 weeksDate, party size, interests, pickup point
Multi-day private itinerary4–8 weeksDates, budget band, pace, must-sees
Group departure, 20+3–6 monthsDates, rooming list basis, budget per person
Peak season (Jun–Sep) anythingAdd 4+ weeksHotels and boats go first

A brief we can quote against contains: travel dates, number of travellers and rooming basis, arrival and departure points, budget band per person, and one line on what the traveller actually cares about. That last line changes the itinerary more than the budget does.

What we are not, and when to use someone else

Being specific about the limits saves both of us a quotation cycle:

  • We do not issue air tickets. Bring your own air, or your consolidator’s.
  • We are not the cheapest option for high-volume, low-margin coach touring. Our work is private and small-group, where the ground detail is the product.
  • Southern Italy and Sicily we operate as itinerary legs with vetted local partners, not as a home region. If your whole programme is Sicily-only, a Palermo-based operator will serve you better.
  • KM Tourism Italy is a separate Italian-registered entity from the Dubai business that shares the brand name. Same family, same standards, different company and different registration.

Working with us

There is no partner application form and no onboarding fee. Send a live brief or a hypothetical one, and you will get a costed itinerary back. That is the fastest way to judge whether we are any good — faster than a credentials deck.

If you would rather start with rates, ask for the net rate sheet for the regions you sell most. Related reading: private tours on Lake Como and what a private tour of Italy costs.
